Wow, so it’s already October. This was supposed to be an awesome month for Damian and me. Our wedding date was planned for October 10th, but thanks to this pandemic, we made the decision to postpone until October 2021. So what was our honeymoon cabin getaway is now just a regular cabin getaway vacation. That part is nice, at least.
Anyway, it is the first Monday of the Month and that means it is once again time for a Calendar Girls post.
Calendar Girls is a monthly blog event that was started by Flavia and Melanie, but is now being hosted by Katie and Adrienne. They are all wonderful ladies, and you should check out their lovely blogs. Okay, so pretty much everyone is on a hiatus due to COVID-19 and all the stresses that brings, so I’m hosting Calendar Girls on my own for a little bit.
So if you link back to Adrienne and me, we can keep track of all the book picks and posts each month. Thanks, everyone!
First, more about the Calendar Girls. It is designed to ignite bookish discussions among readers, and was inspired by the 1961 Neil Sedaka song, Calendar Girl.
Just like the song, each month has a different theme. Each blogger picks their favorite book from the theme, and on the first Monday of the month reveals their pick in a Calendar Girls post. Make sure to post back to the hostess’s post, and both Katie and Adrienne will make a master list for the month. The master lists allow everyone to see the other Calendar Girls’ picks and to pop on over to their blogs. Thus, we all get to chat about books and even make some new friends!

Favorite Werewolf Book
All right, so I’ll be completely honest with the theme this month…I don’t think I really read many vampire and werewolf novels these days. I read quite a few of them several years ago, so some of the books in the list of potential winners were ones I read a while ago, and some I enjoyed back then, but now I would probably rate them at just okay.
All right, so my choice for winner this month is purely based on the feelings I remember from when I read this book…actually, I read it like two times. But I think I should probably read it again, so I can keep going with the series. Alexia Tarabotti is a rather interesting protagonist, and watching her deal with werewolves and vampires just makes for an entertaining reading experience.
Honestly, I think my favorite vampire and werewolf reads are the ones that are historical fantasy; there’s just something about running around Victorian England or whatever that I find to be really fun.
