Hey all, Dani here.
Why does it feel like fall is speeding by so quickly? Then again, I feel like that always happens. Winter seems to take forever though, and to me winter is only good for making a blanket ford and getting all bundled up with a hot beverage to read. But I’m going to try and enjoy the fall weather and the fall atmosphere as much as I can before it is gone. The leaves are changing colors, the nights are getting chilly…and starting next Monday I will be in the middle of nowhere with a cabin, a hot tub, and a fire ring. So I’m really hoping that the colors of fall will surround me and Damian and I will be able to relax for a week. We’re hoping to do a little bit of hiking, and then maybe a couple little photo shoots, and of course read books, watch anime, and relax.
Until then Damian still has one more day of work to get through, and I have two–because I signed up for an extra shift on Friday for some reason…oh yeah, that’s right, because I’m sorting through old files and photos and records, and getting paid for it. This is one of the very few times at work that I’ve been able to utilize my knowledge from my university degrees in the work setting, and I’m going to enjoy it while it lasts…which should be all of October.
Okay, not a lot to say for the video game update for today’s wrap-up, but a few friends did convince me to download the Among Us game on my phone. I’ve only done a couple free play practice rounds so far, but I guess that is a little bit of gaming time. I also bought and downloaded the game Hades on my Switch; haven’t played it yet, but I’ve heard great things about it, so we’ll see.
Moving on to watches…we finished season 1 of “Supernatural” and started season 2, and we also watched “The Matrix,” because it has been a very long time since we watched those movies. Honestly, I think that’s all we watched. It’s been a decently busy week and weekend, so we didn’t lounge and binge-watch as much as we have some weeks.
Next up is all the talk about books. Yay.

Overall it’s been a pretty darn good reading week for me. I managed to get myself to finish Red Sister before September ended, and then my October started with me flying through Witchy and then reading My Plain Jane over the weekend, and then making a trip to B&N so I could pick up A Deadly Education, which I immediately jumped into. I also had to balance that with reading Kingdom of Sea and Stone, because I’m on the blog tour for that book and my review post will be up tomorrow.
When you look at my current reads, it is me jumping back into The Bone Shard Daughter, which I’ve ignored for the past week because I had other books I both needed and wanted to read, a re-read of The Way of Kings because I felt like it and because I want to make my way through books two and three so I can read book four–which is out next month, and I’m just starting A Golden Fury because my blog tour review will be up next Thursday. So it’s just another week of some great reads, or at least I really hope so.
Well, I’ve had Master of Poisons on my next up TBR for a couple weeks now, so maybe now I’ll actually get around to it. I also want to dive into Kingdom of the Wicked because it seems like a thematically and atmospherically appropriate read for October and I would love to have a review up around release day. Finally, seeing the preview images of “The Witcher” season 2 has me wanting to jump back into the story of Geralt of Rivia, so I might actually pick up the next book in the series–which is actually the first full-length book of the series–soon.
All right, I do believe that is all from me for today. What are you reading right now? Let me know in the comments, and I’ll be back soon with more bookish content.
Looks like you had a really good reading week! I just read Kingdom of the Wicked and absolutely loved it!

I think the week was helped by a couple books being rather quick reads, which is nice. Ooh, good to know! Now I’m even more excited to read Kingdom of the Wicked.
