Hey all, Dani here.
So, yeah, we have just over a month left in 2019. Somehow it feels like this year has gone by really fast–though, I realize that at times it felt like it was moving by so slowly. But with the end of the year approaching, there are still a lot of things I’d like to try and accomplish.
When I started stacking up all of the books I’m still hoping to read this year, I realized that maybe this concept might be a little overly ambitious. But hey, I’m going to try it all anyway.
Look at that stack of books. When I put them in a single stack it comes up to my waist. Oh, and I should probably point out that I have read The City of Brass, but I read an ARC before it was officially released, and I’ve read so many books since then that I think it necessary to refresh myself on everything in the book so I will be able to follow The Kingdom of Copper better.
Oh, and since I took this photo, I have actually already read a couple of the books here, so yay, progress. Not included in this picture is the stack of e-galleys I also have to get through.
Also, most of these books are also lovely diverse reads, so I’m once again participating in Kathy at Books and Munches’ Diverse December reading challenge. I guess I’ll also take this time to mention that I’m also participating in the Short-A-Thon (hosted by Destiny at Howling Libraries and Kathy from Books and Munches) from December 21-31…but my reads are not short in page count, just short in how long it will take me to consume them. Oh well, I’m still counting it.
Not that I need the boost to my Reading Goals or anything. I’m currently at 193 books read for the year, and my goal is still listed at 175. I’ll definitely reach 200, but I’m wondering if I should put my goal at 220 now. It’s a debate I’ve been having with myself for a few days.
The other plan I should mention is my writing plans. I am still working on my novel; it’s just going a bit slower than I’d like. But maybe possibly I can still keep to my loose deadline of finishing a very rough draft by the end of the year. We’ll see. In addition to the book writing, I also want to get back to my Weekend Writer posts, because I’ve found it to be pretty helpful to study the craft of writing while I’m working on writing myself.
So there you have it, my plans for the end of the year. Other than reading and writing, I pretty much just plan to keep playing D&D, playing some video games, and watching some TV and movies.
Do you have any fun plans for the end of the year? Let me know in the comments, and I’ll be back soon with more bookish content.
Ooh there are also still so many books I want to read before the end of the year, I don’t even know where to start haha!
I hope you can read them all!

Haha, I know that feeling. That’s why I have this stack of books. I can just reach for one of them every time I need a new book to read. It should help with my reading indecision. Good luck with your end of year reading.

This is the most books I’ve read in a single year in a long while, so either way I’m happy with what I’ve read.
