A Bonus Pride June TBR

Hey all, Sam here.

So, of course, the same day as my June TBR post goes live, I have a co-worker who has decided that it would be fun for us to having a reading contest. Now, I should say that I love this co-worker, and it’s overall a low stakes contest…but it does mean that my TBR is now utter chaos…and that’s fine.

The reading contest is to see which of us can read the most queer books in the month of June. Novellas and manga do count, but they can’t be the majority of your reads. Re-reads are also fine. The loser will be buying the winner a book.

Here’s where it is helpful for me to stockpile books that sound interesting. Now that I have a reading challenge, I don’t have to worry about trying to pick up anything from the library or buying something to fit the criteria. I already have a nice collection. Although it is sad to realize that I have so many books on my shelf that are queer reads that I haven’t read yet…because everything I have included in this post (okay, with the exception of two of them that I want to re-read) is a book I own but haven’t read.

Now, obviously I do have more books that I could use than this, and this doesn’t include any of my e-book options or re-read options (again, aside from the two that I did include here)…but I am definitely spoiled for choice, and that’s exciting.

Crueler Mercies by Maren Chase

Idolfire by Grace Curtis

The Impossible Garden of Clara Thorne by Summer N. England

The Hearth Witch’s Guide to Magic and Murder by Kiri Callaghan

Coffeeshop in an Alternate Universe by C.B. Lee

Apparently, Sir Cameron Needs to Die by Greer Stothers

Don’t Want You Like a Best Friend by Emma R. Alban

A Spell for Heartsickness by Alistair Reeves

The Chase Begins by Aimee Donnellan (re-read, but I want to re-read and then review the whole series, so I’m definitely including this on my list)

Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil by V.E. Schwab

The Gentleman and His Vowsmith by Rebecca Ide

Homegrown Magic by Jamie Pacton and Rebecca Podos

The Spirit Bares Its Teeth by Andrew Joseph White

Swordcrossed by Freya Marske

The Gilded Crown by Marianne Gordon

Song of the Six Realms by Judy I. Lin

Godly Heathens by H.E. Edgmon

The Warden by Daniel M. Ford

Perception Check by Astrid Knight (re-read, but it’s been a couple years, and I think the sequel should be coming soon-ish)

The Bone Spindle by Leslie Vedder

Saints of Storm and Sorrow by Gabriella Buba

I’m sure my June Wrap-Up is going to be an interesting one. Well, that’s all from me for today. Thank you so much for stopping by for this quick little post. I’ll be back soon with more geeky content…like my May Wrap-Up (and then hopefully some book reviews).
