November 2026 TBR

Hey all, Sam here.

I’m going to try posting about my November TBR a little differently, and by that I mean that I’m not doing my usual list of twelve books for my hopeful reads. I do have seven NetGalley reads on the list, and one read that I’m definitely going to devour as soon as my copy comes in. But, because I really do want to focus on participating in PaWriCo this year, I’m only listing off eight books.

Can I/Will I read more than that? Possibly. I’ve already hit my reading goal for the year, so I don’t technically need to stress about it for the last couple months of the year.

There’s also the fact that I have a list of my overdue NetGalley reads/reviews and I’m trying to work on catching up on those a bit, so I do have a lot more options to consider for the month. I’m actually probably going to be relatively focused on my NetGalley backlog for at least the next few months or so, because I’d really like to get my review ratio percentage up a bit more.

But there are some great sounding books coming out in November, and I’d like to not fall behind on my frontlist because of trying to focus on the backlist. So let’s talk about the books on my TBR for November…

Captive Traitor King by Brigid Kemmerer (Nov 3), This Knight Topples Empires by Ry Herman (Nov 3), Cursekeeper by Alexandra Christo (Nov 3), Fall for a Fairytale by Isabelle Taylor (Nov 10)

I read Warrior Princess Assassin last year and I read This Princess Kills Monsters earlier this year, so obviously I need the next books, although technically Ry Herman’s books aren’t part of a series, but I think they are set in the same world. These two books are definitely on fairly opposite sides of the spectrum, with Knight being a bit more tongue-in-cheek and campy.

Then there’s Cursekeeper: a magical library of curses, a warrior librarian, an exiled/Fallen Fae, and a quest to stop a demonic leader now unleashing curses upon the world….yep, that sounds exactly like something I want to read. And, again pretty much on the opposite side of the spectrum we have Fall for a Fairytale, which is a cozy romantasy where an orc con artist convinces an orphaned Fae that she could be the kingdom’s long lost princess. What follows is sure to be an adventure.

Prudence Marsh is Not a Nobody Anymore by Emily Krempholtz (Nov 10), The Divine Shadow by Lyndsay Ely (Nov 10), Thunderstruck by Lissa Layland (Nov 17), The Mighty Nein: Children of Empire by Nibedita Sen (not a NetGalley book for me, but it will be released Nov 10)

All right, next I have the companion novel to Violet Thistlewaite is Not a Villain Anymore, which I’m hoping will also be a bit cozy and a bit romantic and just a good time. Wow, okay, once again basically on the opposite side of the spectrum is the sequel to The Lost Reliquary, which I read at the end of 2025 and it left off on quite a cliffhanger. Needless to say, I am very excited to see what will happen next with Lys, our divine warrior as she basically wages a divine war within herself. Although, I may need to re-read the first book, as I’ve realized I never reviewed it on here.

My final NetGalley book for the month is Thunderstruck, which is a romantasy where an American exchange student finds herself in Norway and caught in a love triangle with an activist and a law professor, only to find out that they are the Norse gods Thor and Loki. Yeah, it didn’t take much to sell me on this one, so hopefully it’s a good read.

My final TBR books is the upcoming novel set in the world of Critical Role, and that is The Mighty Nein: Children of Empire. Now, what makes this book unique when it comes to the CR novels is that the others were all prequels, where we got to delve a bit deeper into the pasts of some of our favorite characters. This book is set between Campaign 2 and Campaign 3, so you at least need to be familiar with the story of the Mighty Nein to avoid spoilers. I will be devouring this book as soon as I have access to it.

All right, well that is all there is from me for today. Thank you so much for stopping by, and I’ll hopefully be back soon with more geeky content (and some overdue book reviews).
