I’m Bringing Weekend Writer Back

Hey all, Sam here.

I said I had more announcements to make, and here I am with another one…I’m bringing my Weekend writer series back!

Well….with some adjustments.

When I started Weekend Writer, I was just taking books on the craft of writing and breaking them down into sections, and diving deep into one section with each post. Which is fine, and I do hope to continue reading and talking about books about writing. But, I also would like Weekend Writer to include talking about other writing tools, and even giving writing prompts, and sharing writing excerpts and such.

With the exception of this announcement post, I think that my usual day for Weekend Writer will be on Fridays…that way when writing prompts or other creativity exercises come out, if you want to give them a try, you’ll have the whole weekend to work on it.

What I want to know is…how frequently do we want writing prompts and creativity exercises? I’m thinking for now, maybe post up a few different exercises the first Weekend Writer post of the month, and then perhaps sharing the work from those prompts and exercises the last Weekend Writer post of the month. Then for the weeks in between, it can be working through books on creativity and the craft of writing. I think that will work okay.

Wow, this is a lot of paragraphs all starting with W. Interesting.

Anyway, I’d love to hear your input on this idea, so let me know in the comments.

The first non-announcement Weekend Writer post will be up next Friday, January 6th!

Thanks for stopping by everyone. I hope you have a wonderful weekend, and I’ll be back soon with more geeky content.
