Hey all, Dani here.
Okay, well we have made it to the month of May, which means it’s time to look back on what I read in April. Honestly it was a pretty slow start to the reading month for me…despite the fact that I bought a lot of books in April, and I had such plans to do all sorts of reading. I’m still really fighting this slump…but at least I read something.
Actually I thought I was going to have a great reading month because I started off by flying through a couple books (re-reads, but still), but then I learned some things about an author, and then the reading slump hit me even harder than before. So, while I will include the reads from early-April, I’m not going to give them ratings.
Okay, let’s see what all I did manage to get through.
Wicked Saints by Emily A. Duncan — not rating this one
Ruthless Gods by Emily A. Duncan — not rating this one either
home body by Rupi Kaur — 5 stars
The Girl and the Goddess by Nikita Gill — 5 stars
How to Treat Magical Beasts Vol 5 by Kaziya — 5 stars
Fireheart Tiger by Aliette De Bodard — 4.5 stars
Master of Sorrows by Justin T. Call — 4 stars
The Seventh Raven by David Elliott — 4 stars
The Princess Will Save You by Sarah Henning — 4 stars
Critical Role: Vox Machina Origins Series III Issue #1 by Matthew Mercer, Jody Houser, Olivia Samson, Msassyk, and Ariana Maher — 5 stars
Critical Role: Vox Machina Origins Series III Issue #2 by Matthew Mercer, Jody Houser, Olivia Samson, Diana Sousa, and Ariana Maher — 5 stars
All right, okay, so overall, 11 books in a month is actually really really good…especially with how bad of a slump I have been in for most of this year. I can thank reading poetry, short reads, and manga for my reading count in April.
I will have reviews for a couple of these coming–fairly–soon…such as Master of Sorrows, The Princess Will Save You, and The Seventh Raven because the first two I’ve been approved for the sequel on NetGalley and I wouldn’t want to review the second book without having a review for the first book up first, and for the last book, well it was a NetGalley approval that I took too long to read so I actually read my owned hardcover finished copy…but I still want/need to get a review up.
Okay, so I guess that is all from me for today. Thanks for stopping by and I’ll be back soon with more geeky content.
