Hey all, Dani here.
I had grand ideas for what kind of post I wanted to do once I had pretty much caught up on most of the things for this blog–though obviously I do have a list of books that I still need to review because I read them and I want to talk about them–but I don’t feel up to talking about them today.
Why?
Because today I got my second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. I still have a couple weeks before I’m truly considered to be fully vaccinated, but just having the opportunity to get the vaccine has lifted so much of the anxiety I have felt for over a year.
Damian and I started wearing masks a couple weeks before the mask mandates happened in Ohio. We have pretty much become shut-ins the past year. Our weekly grocery shopping went to bi-weekly, we stopped eating out, we stopped going out to socialize. We had to postpone our wedding.
I know we’re not through this yet. And I know that I am so fortunate to have access to the vaccine, because so many countries don’t and people are suffering and dying. This whole pandemic has been awful on so many levels for so many people.
But I’m just going to take a bit of time and allow myself to feel a tiny bit of relief, at least for a little while.
Upcoming on the blog: D&D posts (including posts about roleplay, note-taking, immersion, working with the players and the DM, and more), Reviews (books, TV, movies, games, etc), and Writing (because hey, I actually have been doing some writing).
So I hope that you all have a great day. Thanks for stopping by, and I’ll be back soon with more geeky content.
