Hey all, Dani here.
I have had to do jobs at work that I haven’t done in months and months, and as a result I feel so tired and sore and just worn-out. I’m already ready for the weekend again. Thankfully I just have one more day of work. Sure, 10 hour work days aren’t exactly fun, but I really do like having a three-day weekend every week. Anyway, this last weekend would have been Cincinnati Comic Expo, which was obviously canceled due to the pandemic and everything, so Damian and I got a hotel room to just relax and geek-out…which ended up being really nice.
Once again, no video game update. I took my Switch with me to the hotel so I could play a little bit, and I didn’t even pull it out of the bag. Then again, I didn’t pick up as many of the books or anything that I had planned either so…I guess some weekends just aren’t as productive as we want them to be.
Watches: I finally caught up on the most recent season of “My Hero Academia,” and I’m excited about that. I mean, I’m fully caught up on the manga, but it was nice to watch it in the anime. Then I sat down with Damian to try a few episodes of “Naruto” and see if it is something I would be interested in. We were supposed to watch 3-5 episodes to get a feel for it, but after 7 episodes we had to pause so I could admit that I do actually want this to be one of the next longer anime we watch. Then we watched “Mortal Kombat” before jumping back into a binge-watch of “Black Clover.” We made it through the end of season 2 and quite a bit of the way through season 3; I think we have about 12 more episodes to be completely caught up. After all of that–which was our lazy weekend of watching things while relaxing in a hotel room, we watched “Underworld” and “Underworld: Evolution” at home the past couple days after work. So it’s been a pretty eventful week when it comes to what we’ve watched.
Okay, so finished reads…there aren’t any. I read like 50 pages over the weekend, which is just pretty sad. And I’ve read about 100 pages the last couple days at work, which is not enough to finish a book. So, I guess let’s talk about all the books I’m currently reading. I reached a point in The Obsidian Tower where I realized that this is set in the same world as the author’s other books. I have owned The Tethered Mage for a couple years now but never got around to picking it up. Now I’m definitely planning to pick it up soon. Nothing seems like a spoiler to me, so I’m thinking that you don’t need to have read them before this one, so that’s good. And I had to start reading The Code for Love and Heartbreak because my post for the blog tour is going up October 1st.
Honestly since I’m in the middle of so many books, I’m really hoping that I’ll be able to finish some very soon. Damian is going to a Magic: the Gathering pre-release event on Friday night, so I’ll be home alone, so I’m thinking of trying to prep up a couple blog posts and do some reading. Only time will tell if the plan will end up being successful or not.
Now then, let’s talk about what I’m hoping to start reading next. I really really really want to get to Legendborn very soon, because I have only heard amazing things about it. I’m on the blog tour for Kingdom of Sea and Stone on October 8th, so obviously I need to read that one soon, and I’m also very excited to get to read Crazy Stupid Bromance early, because I have loved the rest of the series so much. On top of that, there have been some awesome fantasy releases recently, and I really wish I had time to just read all of these books. It definitely doesn’t stop me from buying them, but I wish I had just a little bit more time to read (and write) in my life.
All right, well I do believe that is all from me for today. What are you currently reading? Let me know in the comments and I’ll be back soon with more bookish content.
Okay, I want to read every single on of these books! lol I read Fable – one of my favorite this year, but I’m dying to read Legendborn! I’ve heard nothing but fantastic things about it. The Bone Shard Daughter is getting a lot of buzz too – sounds interesting! Hope you enjoy them all. 🙂

2020 has been a rotten year for a lot of things, but not book releases. There have been so many amazing books coming out this year, and I can’t keep up with them all. I need more time for reading, lol. I hope you enjoy the rest of these books as well!

I agree- it’s one of the best reading years I’ve had, but the rest of 2020 is basically a big dumpster fire. lol

Yeah, I read 231 books in 2019, and I’ve already finished 205 in 2020.
The biggest disappointment of the year is that we had to postpone our wedding until next year. But it’s the right call if we want to he safer with a good sized gathering.

That stinks! Better to be safe though – you made a good decision!
At least you’re having an amazing reading year!! You’ll probably be near 300 by the end of the year! I’m just over 200 too, and my goal was 150, so I feel super accomplished.
