Hey all, Dani here.
It has been a long week already, and it’s only Wednesday. But, on the plus side, this weekend I’m working with Colorworld Books to moderate their author event on Friday, July 17th. I’ll be chatting with Rachel Kelly, Lance Conrad, and Russell Nohelty about books, writing, working with voice actors, and more. It should be a pretty good time. You can pick up signed books, hangout times, and more by going to the online shop. I’m excited and nervous to be moderating a panel–I’m honestly just hoping that I’m not utterly horrible at it; I always feel so awkward when on camera. So I guess we’ll see what happens.
Umm…no video gaming this past week. I’ve felt a bit too busy to actually pick up my Switch and play anything.
Watches: “The Babysitter’s Club,” “Warehouse 13,” “Critical Role.” Okay, so I think the modern update to BSC is actually pretty good. I’m only like 4 episodes in, but I’m liking it. Damian and I are continuing our re-watch of “Warehouse 13,” and by continuing, I mean that we have already made it through the first two seasons and are in the middle of season three already. Also, our D&D live stream is finally back, so we’re trying to keep up with that now. Oh, and awesomely enough, I forgot to mention it last week but one of my fantastic fellow Critters actually gifted me a 1-month subscription to Twitch, which has made watching CR even easier. So thank you to the amazing and generous Critter who did that.
In the past week I have read Blood of the Earth by Faith Hunter, Stranger Planet by Nathan W Pyle, Mayhem by Estelle Laure, The Price of Creation by Lance Conrad, and How to Build Your Creative Career by Russell Nohelty. I need to get reading a little faster on the Faith Hunter/Soulwood series because I’m reviewing the fifth book at the end of the month, and so far I’ve only finished the first one. It’s okay though; they read pretty quickly. And my review for Mayhem went up yesterday because I was lucky enough to be part of the blog tour for it as well.
Now, when it comes to current reads, I am in the middle of And Death Followed Behind Her by Russell Nohelty, The Price of Nobility by Lance Conrad, Shielded by KayLynn Flanders, and The Girl Who Could Move Sh*t With Her Mind by Jackson Ford. Obviously Russell and Lance’s books are because of the Colorworld Live event on Friday. The other two books just sounded interesting and I’ll be jumping back to them as soon as I finish up with my prep for the Colorworld event.
As for what I’m reading next…honestly I have no clue. I’ve been so busy with both my jobs and trying to get ready for events that thinking about reading and blogging would have taken up too much brain power. So I think for the next week I’m just going to pick up whatever sounds good at that particular moment.
Although, to be fair, next week is The Reading Rush, and I have thought about participating. But I don’t know. I just need to get through the next few days first, and then I’ll try and get things sorted and figured out and all that.
What are you currently reading? Let me know in the comments and I’ll be back soon with more bookish content.
Looks like a good reading week,I hope the next is just as good!
I´m currently reading Elantris, and really enjoying it so far!
