Hey all, Dani here.
I’m actually pretty excited today. My friends at Colorworld Books have been doing these cool online convention experiences with panels featuring voice actors, and you can also buy 1-on-1 video chats and signed metal art prints from the actors, and today features Cherami Leigh, Brittney Karbowski, and David Wald, three voice actors known for their roles in shows like “Fairy Tail” and “My Hero Academia,” but they are also three of the five voice actors doing the audiobooks for the Colorworld series, and they are utterly fantastic audiobooks. Damian and I have 1-on-1 chats with all three of them, plus we hope to attend the regular panel and the VIP panel. It’s going to be a pretty good day.
So… on the other side of the news spectrum, Gen Con was canceled; they just made the announcement yesterday. We already have the days scheduled off through work, and out hotel is already booked. I don’t know yet, but this might actually still end up being a vacation. We might do the tourist thing around Indianapolis for a few days. Or just stay at the hotel and relax in the room and play board games. Or figure out something else to do. We’re not sure yet.
Still playing Animal Crossing for a bit each day.
But here’s the big news in my weekly wrap-up post. I finally started working on my book again. I’ve been trying to make myself sit down for minimum 1 hour each day to do work on my book, whether that is planning/plotting, writing, or editing. So far it seems to be working pretty well. I’m of course helped by having an actual “office space” set up. It is keeping me a bit more productive. I’ll have a better writing wrap-up in my monthly wrap-up post (including current word count of novel), but for now I’ll just say that I’m making progress.
Let’s see, for watches…we went to the drive-in movie theater and watched “Onward” and “Maleficient: Mistress of Evil” last weekend, and that was a good time. We also decided to pick up “The Big Bang Theory” again, finishing the last few episodes of Season 10 and then getting a good chunk of the way through Season 11. I think that’s about all for watching.
As for reading…it hasn’t been a whole lot.
I finished a for-fun re-read of Shadoworld, because I was just really in the mood to dive deep into this series again…which is great considering the fact that I’m hosting a Colorworld Series Readalong starting June 1.
I’m still working on these two books. I haven’t had as much reading time as I would have liked over the past week, but the Outlander series is full of long books, so I don’t expect to finish them in a few days. I don’t really have an excuse for the historical romance I picked up. I just haven’t been doing a lot of reading on my phone.
I’m really feeling like I want to read this zombie convention book, despite not liking zombie stories at all. But I might pick up one of these other books too. I’m not exactly sure. I feel like I could probably get some good reading in over the weekend because it is Memorial Day weekend, so I have an extra day off work.
All right, well that’s all for today. What are you reading currently? Let me know in the comments, and I’ll be back soon with more bookish content.
