Hey all, Dani here.
Yep, so much is going on right now, and it’s taking me away from my blog work. So, I guess for today I’m going to be talking about the last two weeks of events, which honestly is fine because I don’t have a lot to update for some of the sections.
First up, let’s talk about watches. Oh man, we have been watching so many Disney movies, and it’s not because of Disney+. They’re just good watches to have on the background when we need something to listen to while we work on other projects. Like, I like to have a show or movie I’m familiar with on in the background when I’m writing…well, at least when I’m not listening to a writing playlist. We’ve watched “The Princess & The Frog,” “Atlantis: The Lost Empire,” “Central Intelligence,” “Zombieland 2: Double Tap,” and “Brave.” Oh, and I’ve been starting a re-watch of “Arrow,” starting with season 1.
Anyway, we did also get Disney+, and the only thing we’ve watched on it so far is “The Mandalorian,” which is outstanding and both Damian and I definitely recommend it.
Now for the writing update. I’m still making progress on my novel, but it isn’t as much progress as I would personally like to have made. It definitely isn’t enough daily progress to keep up with NaNoWriMo. I think I’m at like 14,000 words right now, and NaNo would like me to be around 33,000. But it’s okay. I’m still really happy that I’m writing, and my loose goal is to finish my rough draft by the end of 2019. So that’s why I am not going to try and keep up with my blog post a day schedule.
Finally, let’s talk about reading. Well, I finished Black Clover, Vol 18, which I allowed myself to read because it was quick and I needed a little bit of a reading break. But then I allowed myself to read over the weekend after reaching certain word count goals…pretty much every 1000 words I would let myself read 2 chapters. I said two chapters because I figured sometimes 1 chapter just isn’t enough, but I needed to set some sort of restriction so I wouldn’t just read the whole thing in one sitting while abandoning my NaNo project. Anyway, so I was bribing myself to write more by rewarding myself with The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern.
Basically there are a few of my most anticipated releases that came out November 5th, which is like the worst time if you’re participating in NaNoWriMo, but I’m trying to make the best of it. Oh, and I’m still reading The Last Wish by Andzrej Sapkowski as my work book. I’m about halfway through it and really enjoying it, but…I sort-of keep working through my breaks and lunches, which probably isn’t good, so I’m not getting a whole lot of reading time. Oops. I mean, I guess that’s also a sign that I really enjoy my job. I just wish that my training wasn’t ending at the end of November. I’m not ready to go back to my usual job.
How has your week been? Are you doing NaNoWriMo? What books are you reading? Let me know in the comments and I’ll be back soon with more bookish content.
Enjoy your reading!
