Weekly Wrap-Up (35)

It has been a very productive week, and I’m hoping that I can continue that trend through the rest of the month. Oh, and looking ahead to next month, I’m really trying to get posts prepped up for November now, because I really want my focus to be on writing for NaNoWriMo. So…if next month I can’t keep up with my daily posting schedule, I’m going to go ahead and apologize. But I’m hoping in the next couple of weeks that I can schedule ahead on a majority of my posts. It means a lot of work now, but if I succeed then it will be totally worth it.

First up, let’s wrap-up the watches from the last week. We finished our re-watch of “Avatar: the Last Airbender,” and I absolutely love this series. It has the best character redemption arc I’ve ever seen in a book/show/movie. We also watched “RENT,” “Miss Congeniality,” “Now You See Me,” “Timeline,” “Jurassic Park,” “The Lost World: Jurassic Park,” “Jurassic Park III,” “Hocus Pocus

Okay, so let’s talk about reads. It’s quite an extensive list this time around, because I made the decision to have a relaxing weekend of reading, and thankfully I was successful with that. I even gave reading progress updates on my Bookstagram, which is great because I’ve been mostly neglecting that particular social media account. But I’m also getting myself ready for Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon, which will be taking place on October 26, so that weekend of reading I just had was a casual practice. I read 809 pages on Saturday and 165 pages on Sunday, so overall that wasn’t bad.

All, right, here’s everything I’ve read in the past week. I finished Embrace Your Weird by Felicia Day, My Hero Academia Vol 21 by Kohei Horikoshi, My Hero Academia Vigilantes Vol 6 by Hideyuki Furuhashi and Betten Court, Tunnel of Bones by Victoria Schwab, Cursed by Thomas Wheeler and Frank Miller, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Illustrated Edition by J.K. Rowling and Jim Kay, and The Art of War for Writers by James Scott Bell.

Now, let’s talk about current reads. The book I’m currently reading solely at work (for now anyway) is The Library of the Unwritten by A.J. Hackwith, and I am loving it so much. I love books about magical libraries and magical books, and this is definitely a great start to what I’m guessing will become a favorite series of mine. I’m also in the middle of copy edits for Waterworld Volume 3: Xavier by Rachel E. Kelly.

Finally, there’s what I’m hoping to read next. I don’t have as much free time in the upcoming weekend, but I still might be able to squeeze in a couple books, which would be really cool. But I don’t exactly know what I’m going to be in the mood to read in the next few days, so here’s just a few options. Thematically most of them do seem very fall/Halloween in tone, so that’s great.
