Hey all, Dani here.
I got a few new books on writing and RPG story craft in the mail today, and it seems like they are full of some really great essays, so I’m excited to start reading them. Oh, and I’ve also figured out my next couple of book purchases, which are also on the craft of writing, specifically on dealing with writer’s block. It’s all pretty cool, so look forward to more details about what I’m learning in my Weekend Writer posts on Sundays.
Anyway, today is Monday, which means that it is time for another Manga Monday review. So let’s go ahead and jump into the review.

Summary
In a world of magic, Asta, a boy with anti-magic powers, will do whatever it takes to become the Wizard King!
Asta is a young boy who dreams of becoming the greatest mage in the kingdom. Only one problem—he can’t use any magic! Luckily for Asta, he receives the incredibly rare five-leaf clover grimoire that gives him the power of anti-magic. Can someone who can’t use magic really become the Wizard King? One thing’s for sure—Asta will never give up!
As Asta and the Black Bulls continue their search for the magic stone in the Underwater temple, they are blindsided by Vetto of the Eye of the Midnight Sun. Can the rowdy Black Bulls work together to take down this fearsome foe?
My Thoughts
Rating: 5 stars
Oooh…this was a very interesting volume. I love that Master Yami always supports and pushes everyone in the Black Bulls. I’ve come to enjoy it whenever he says “Surpass Your Limits. Right here. Right now.” It makes me kind of want an art print that says that for when I need the motivation.
And we definitely see Noelle do that in this volume, which was awesome. Part of it is that Yami doesn’t really give them much time to doubt themselves. In this volume with Noelle he lays it out straight to her: she will figure out how to transport them to the underwater temple, and she will do it in …I think it was a day, maybe two.
Not only do we have Yami’s focused prodding, but we also have Asta’s determination and can-do attitude. His encouragement and never-give-up ideal has certainly had an effect on all of the Black Bulls. I think his support and willingness to trust in Noelle’s ability and power really help her learn and grow too.
It’s great. I think the underwater temple story arc is absolutely fascinating, and I can’t wait to share my thoughts on the next few volumes with all of you.
