Manga Review: Delicious in Dungeon Vol 3

Hey all, Dani here.

Sorry for this late Manga Monday post, but it has been a crazy day as we try to get everything done so we’re ready for the work week. After being away from the house for a few days, the lawn needed to be mowed (a huge task that takes a couple of hours), and we needed to do grocery shopping and try and catch up on everything we had missed being away from the internet and all of that. It was a really nice weekend, but I think both Damian and I are pretty tired.

But, before I can let myself go to bed early, I need to talk about this volume of manga I read recently. So let’s just jump into the review.

Summary

New dangers and new recipes await the party in the third installment of the utterly unique and endearing Delicious in Dungeon!

My Thoughts

Rating: 4 stars

Another interesting installment to the series. This continues to be a decently solid series, and while not my absolute favorite, I do enjoy reading it. Of course, this is another series where it takes quite a bit of time in between volumes being released, so I’m almost completely caught up already, despite trying to take my time. I think Volume 7 will be out this fall.

We’re getting more glimpses into how the characters met and got into this dungeoneering adventure together. I think that is definitely interesting, that we’re getting these flashbacks to highlight the beginnings of their adventures, and how some of them got to be the way they are. It is pretty interesting.

And as always, the recipes continue to be my favorite part. I really need to incorporate some of this into my D&D campaigns. I think it’s fascinating to show how the characters can live on what they find in the dungeon, whether that is the leftover gear from other adventurers, or the plants and/or creatures that live in the dungeon. It is a fun survival tale through an increasingly dangerous place, where right now the goal is to get to the dragon and save their one companion before it’s too late.

I’m pretty curious as to what will happen in the next installment.
