Hey all, Dani here.
Wow, we are at the midpoint of the week already. I only have one more day of work and then I’m free for a long weekend, and I am so ready for it. I have very very big plans (which you’ll see in just a couple minutes), but I’m definitely looking forward to it. And obviously this week’s check-in is a pretty impressive one too. I had a really good week, and that’s exciting.
Anyway, let’s just get started.
Let’s start with what I’ve read over the last week. I read Dragon Goes House Hunting Vol 2 and Delicious in Dungeon Vol 3. I also finished Aurora Rising by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff. Then I picked up and quickly devoured My Favorite Half-Night Stand by Christina Lauren and The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren. After that I finally picked up The Living God by Kaytalin Platt. So yeah, it was a pretty darn productive week of reading.
So if I’ve read all of that in the past week, what am I reading at the moment? Well, let’s explore that a little bit. I’m still pretty deep in my contemporary romance mood, so I decided to just go ahead and pick up Red, White, and Royal Blue because it sounds cute and I’ve heard great things about it. But I also want to read some fantasy, so my other current read is Nocturna. I’m hoping to finish both of these before we leave Friday morning, but if not then I guess I’ll bring them with me.
Before I get to talking about my upcoming reading plans, let’s also chat briefly about what Damian and I have watched over the past week. That would be finishing Game of Thrones season 6 and then watching like half of the second season of The Big Bang Theory. We haven’t actually had a lot of TV time lately, but that’s okay, because we’ve had plenty of reading time.
Okay, now let’s talk about what I’m hoping to read next. There’s this beautiful fact of getting to read quite a bit when it comes to going off the grid for a few days. Plus let’s add in the fact that when “camping” I tend to wake up around 5 or 6 am and Damian and his grandparents are more of the wake up around 8 or 9 am type. So, I definitely get a lot of reading time in before they wake up. But there’s also just in general a lot of reading time. We spend a lot of time just sitting in the kitchen while a marathon of an old country western show or whatever plays on the TV. There’s also a local festival while we’re there, so I’ll get to eat festival food like funnel cakes, elephant ears, and giant buckets of fries. The local area is also very forested and full of hills, so there’s plenty of hiking too.
Anyway, here’s my massive stack of books. I think I may be overestimating my reading ability. Then again, I might surprise myself. It’s going to be a fun challenge.
Let’s just explore those page counts, shall we? The Priory of the Orange Tree (804 pages), Upon a Burning Throne (662 pages), The Dragonbone Chair (635 pages), Seven Blades in Black (661 pages), and The Blinding Knife (625 pages).
If I read all of these books, that is 3.389 pages read in four days. That would be amazing and also a tiny bit insane. I guess you’ll find out how I did in my weekly wrap-up post next week.
What about you guys? Any crazy reading plans for this weekend? Oh, and if anyone has any adult rom-com style reads to recommend, I think I’m definitely feeling myself delving deeper into this contemporary craving this summer. I can definitely stay I love Christina Lauren’s style, so if there are other similar authors, please help me make my TBR even more outrageous.
Let me know what you’re reading in the comments, and I’ll be back soon with more bookish content.
I hope you have fun camping!💜 and good luck on your TBR, that is an incredible amount of books!

Haha, thanks! I think I need all the good vibes/well wishes I can get. Why did I choose to be so ambitious with my weekend TBR? LOL.

Thank you! Yeah, those books are big, but I’m deep in a reading mood, so I might as well take advantage of it, lol.
And okay, I’ll definitely eat one for you. 🙂
