Hey all, Dani here.
Happy Easter!
Oh, look, another readathon for me to participate in…and I hope I do a little better this time than I did with Round 5. I read a few volumes of manga, but not as many as I had hoped. So hopefully things will be better with Round 6, which will be taking place from May 4th-12th. This is a readathon created and hosted by Jade at Drink Coffee and Read Books. Previously I participated in Rounds 3 and 5, though my participation is pretty limited to this announcement and then reading manga during the event. But there is so much more that can be done. There are all sorts of chats on social media, and challenges (with prizes). You can use the hashtag #MangaMadnessReadathon to keep up with all of the fun.
There are three different options for this readathon.
Option 1: Bingo Board Challenges
Option 2: Read anything you want
Option 3: Stick to one Series. For those of you who want to continue or Finish a series and not switch between different series!
I usually go with #2 because I can’t usually stick to one challenge and I don’t believe that I’m well-versed enough in manga to actually complete the Bingo board.
As for the challenges, there are the Bingo Board Challenges, Instagram Challenges, and a Bonus Challenge (which is to read a manga and watch the anime adaption, and then compare/discuss both of them). For the Bonus Challenge, Jade says that it is perfectly acceptable if you only read one volume and watch one episode.
What matters most of all is that you have fun reading.
All right, so I suppose it is time for me to talk about my TBR for the Readathon.
I’m going quite a bit simpler this time around than my TBR from Round 5. Part of that is because I did so poorly with completing my large TBR then, but also because I’m already predicting that it will be a pretty busy week, so a smaller TBR is a bit more manageable. Though both volumes of Fruits Basket that I own are pretty lengthy. Of course this TBR is always subject to change. I could potentially add in some random other manga, or I could finish all of these in a couple days and want to keep reading. Thankfully Damian and I own quite a few mangas that I have yet to read, so I definitely have options.
My current manga read–though I will finish it long before this event begins–is Dragon Goes House Hunting. Damian spotted it on our latest B&N trip, and it sounded like a fun read, so naturally I couldn’t resist buying it.
All right, well that is all from me today. I hope you all have a lovely day, and I will be back soon with more bookish content.
Thanks for Participating again this round. Good Luck with your Reading!
