I read a lot of books. This isn’t just because I’m a book blogger–though at times it is the blogging that keeps me on track with my reading. I’ve always been a voracious reader. But it’s funny for me to think about of the wide range of books I read, because when I was younger the books were classified as juvenile, then teen, and then regular fiction (you know the adult books). YA was just getting started really, as was MG.
Now, here I am, just a few months away from turning 31, and I am still reading Young Adult and Middle Grade books. Why? Well, why not? They are grand stories, filled with adventure, and friendship, and magic, and whimsy, and I just find them fascinating.
Because of that, each March I try to dedicate some time specifically to Middle Grade books. I’ve banked up a nice handful of books that I need to review, and I’ve made a TBR that is probably a bit too ambitious, especially considering that I’m doing another reading challenge at the same time, but oh well.
Middle Grade March is something I’ve been doing since I started this blog, and I’m going to continue with it, even if I’m by myself doing it. Of course, I’d gladly welcome other readers if anyone wants to join me. It’s a very simple reading challenge. Just read at least one Middle Grade story, and you’re successful. You don’t have to write up a bunch of posts or reviews or anything like that.
So yeah, there’s my TBR for Middle Grade March. It’s super ambitious, right? To be fair, I know that with a lot of these books, I’ll fly through them, so who knows? Maybe I will complete this TBR. That would be crazy and impressive.
I’m also going to try to have a pretty quick turnaround for these books, so hopefully after I finish reading them, I’ll be able to get a review up within a few days.
That’s really all I have for today. I just wanted to announce that I have a reading challenge for the month of March. It would be really cool if you wanted to join me in reading some Middle Grade, but if not, hey, that’s fine. Maybe you’ll just read some of my Middle Grade reviews.

I am SO with you on this one! I actually am going to start Dragon Pearl today! Honestly I have been trying to keep up (and push) all of the novels under the Rick Riordan imprint that I have kind of forgotten about other greats. You see, I am a Children’s Librarian and I think this is going to be a great way to get me back into “the know” of whats going on in the industry at the moment. :]

Keeping up with all the MG would be a great thing for a children’s librarian. Good luck with whatever you read, and if I read some that you haven’t, then I hope my reviews help you.
I have my MLIS, but haven’t been able to find work in a library, so this blog is one of the ways I stay up to date on book releases and the publishing industry, just in case I can get myself into a library. Plus being connected with other librarians and book lovers is always fun and helpful.

Most certainly! I am always looking for book recs in the MG area just because I like to have a wide variety of things to choose from.
If you are having trouble finding a job, I can see if I can help! I have just recently found a TON of resources that are supposed to help librarians find jobs (I am SUPPOSED to move next year and wanted to make sure I had a plan in place for when and if I do). Middle Grade March sounds like an excellent excuse to finally read the Kane Chronicles by Rick Riordan. I’m interested in The Storm Runner too; I keep picking it up and reading the synopsis at the library (I work there, so it’s been a lot of times haha), but I haven’t checked it out yet.
