Hey all, Sam (and David) back again today.
As promised, we’ll be spending our Wednesdays giving you an update to what we’re up to each week. Here’s where we’ll talk about what we’ve been reading and watching and playing and creating. And please, feel free to share what you’ve been up to in the comments. I’m not going to waste too much time with the intro, because I know my section might get a little long.
Let’s see, what have we been up to in the past week:
Sam

Reading: Reggie and Delilah’s Year of Falling by Elise Bryant, Emily Wilde’s Encyclopaedia of Faeries by Heather Fawcett, A Very Merry Bromance by Lyssa Kay Adams, My Isekai Life: I Gained a Second Character Class and Became the Strongest Sage in the World Volume 4 by Shinkoshoto, Ponjea (Friendly Land), and Huuka Kazabana
This week was mostly finishing up things that I’d been slowly reading for at least a couple weeks, aside from the manga. I’m hoping to read some more in the next week, but I don’t exactly know what all I’ll be trying to pick up. It’ll probably be a couple more NetGalley reads at minimum, but I might pick up some more manga, and then I’m kind of in the mood for some steamy and/or smutty romance. So I’m not making any sort of TBR or anything right now.
Watching: “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” seasons 1 & 2 (currently watching Season 3), “Blindspot” (finished season 1, currently watching season 2), “The Legend of Vox Machina” Season 2 (every released episode, at least a couple times…final 3 episodes out this week), “Critical Role” Campaign 3 (still like 3 episodes behind, and trying to catch up), “Rock a Doodle” (animated film from childhood re-watch), “Spy x Family” Season 1 (we finally managed to watch the second half of the season)
Why yes, I’m doing quite a bit of re-watching. What can I say? Rewatching is like a comfort thing for me. Plus, since I’ve seen it before, I can actually do other things at the same time…like read or write or blog. Whatever.

Playing: “Super Mario Party” on Nintendo Switch, “Potion Permit” on Nintendo Switch
The playing of “Super Mario Party” was because we had a friend (who also happens to be 13 years old) over and he wanted us to all play something together. “Potion Permit” is because it’s cute and I feel useful when I’m brewing up potions and helping to fix and heal the community I’m in. Considering how I’m feeling, I might end up playing a little more “Stardew Valley” soon too. But, a part of me wants to play something else, something less cute and cozy, something that involves a bit more bloody combat…so I might finally try to play “Witcher 3” or I might make another go at playing “Skyrim.” I just don’t know.
Writing: Nothing written (aside from blog posts) in the past week, but I’m going to be getting back into the swing of writing at least 500 words a day, so there will be a better update here next week. At least I can say that I’m finally getting words down for the blog. And I was doing good at getting back into the creative writing, so I’ll get back to that again.
Other: Aside from that we’ve been going to a local bar and playing pool. This local place has a 1920s table and it’s longer than the current standard, so it’s a little bit of an adjustment to get used to. Neither of us is particularly good at pool, but it feels like we’re getting better, and more importantly, we’re having fun. Aside from going out and playing pool once a week, we’re also going to a nearby bowling alley and bowling at least once a week as well. We’re thinking about maybe joining a bowling league, but we want to get a little better before we do. And we’re also planning to buy our own bowling shoes, balls, and ball bags.
Well, I think that’s all for my weekly update.
David
Hey guys how’s it going? I have been into a little bit of everything as of late and am hoping to have some more content to share with you. Introductions are not my strong suit so let us get into the fun stuff right away.
Printing: So right now I am pretty focused on getting the small printer farm we have here at the house up and running. So far soo good and as you can see based on the photo below I am printing some pretty cool stuff. Articulated toy dragons and phoenixes are a big focus over the last few days but I hope to get some more awesome stuff done here soon.
When I first started 3D printing in 2020 I had no idea the kind of upkeep I was going to be in for. Building the first printer was fun and figuring out all the little adjustments from there made it frustrating a little bit, but it was well worth it. We now have a small farm of both FDM and Resin printers to choose from and make our own miniatures and terrain for tabletop.
However I am also in the works to maybe even go as far as to sell some of my 3D printed objects online so that will be a fun endeavor and we will see how that goes soon enough I am sure.

Gaming: So I game more often than Sam does and with the current situation I have had a bit more time to do so than I would usually know what to do with. I have been obsessed with playing through Diablo 3 in anticipation of Diablo 4 coming up soon. Of course I have also preordered the latest Legend of Zelda game as well as it is in fact my favorite game franchise of all time.
I am currently working on finishing the story of Pokemon Violet (Sprigatito is just so gosh darn cute!) and finishing my Pokedex on Pokemon Legends. Long term goals as I have to be in the mood to play these ones most of the time though I did find them both more fun than Pokemon Let’s Go Eevee.
Fire Emblem: Three Houses is a game I have found myself trying to get back into only to find myself grinding for levels of all my units again, which is typical for me for most RPGs which means I probably wont be making any quick progress through the main story anytime soon, though I have managed to get each of my units up to level 25 at least for now and am hoping to dedicate a few hours each week to progressing this one a bit more.
The last bit of gaming I have going on right now is I decided to dabble a bit into Genshin Impact. I am not sure what to think about it so far, but I do like the control setup and that I do not have to play it with other players, which is a plus for me most of the time.
If you guys have any recommendations for some games to check out I enjoy RPG the most, but I do not say no to a good racing game from time to time.
Anime: Not too much on the anime front at the moment but like Sam said we just finished season1 of Spy X Family and I am looking forward to more of that one. I dont have a good record of anime that I want to watch at the moment
All right, well that is all from us for today. Thank you so much for stopping by. Feel free to tell us what you’ve been up to in the comments, and we’ll be back soon for more geeky content.
