Hey all, Sam here.
Today I’m doing a brief overview of everything I read last year. I say brief because most of these I’m hoping to review in a future post. I’m using the dates I put the books on my Goodreads for the division of what books I read in which month…so it’ll be decently accurate, but there could be a few that are technically in the wrong spot because I forgot to update them in a timely manner.
Overall in 2022 I read 92 books, which was better than 2021, so I guess I’ll take it as a win, even though it still isn’t on par with what I’ve gotten familiar with as my normal reading ability and range. In the later part of 2021 and then through most of 2022 I fought really bad readers block and writers block and just in general a creativity block, and it was immensely frustrating.
A few of these books I’ve reviewed already, and if so, I’ll include the links to those reviews. And then there’s a bunch that I still want to review, so look for those coming as soon as I can get them written and scheduled.
And…I’ll go ahead and say that this is going to be a long post, even without adding commentary, so I’m literally just going to give you the list of the book titles, authors, and my rating. Any additional commentary will come with the reviews at a later time.

It’s like the books/manga recommending a person. 🙂
Which ones are your favorites?

Exactly! I have been a huge fan of Nanatsu No Taizai for the longest time, I also love Wotakoi and Remarried Empress (I wish I had the option to have the physical copy!) and ofc One Piece! I do have so much on my list ut I am glad that you enjoy them too! 💖

My husband is the reason why I’m picking up One Piece. He watches the anime, but with over 1000 episodes, I doubt my ability to catch up. Considering a volume of manga takes 20-30 minutes, reading 100 doesn’t seem as daunting.
There’s just so many good series out there. I wish I had more free time to read them all…and then talk about them all.

And here I am trying to make my husband read manga lol. You are lucky and regarding series like Naruto, One Piece, Bleach etc. Do not rush. Honestly, the stories are now primarily filler and I did watch over 500 ish episodes but I cannot focus on the anime so instead, I just read each new episode to continue the series!
I am always open for manga chat hahahah!🤣

We like sharing our interests with each other. I got him into reading epic fantasy novels after introducing him to audiobooks. He can’t focus on long books, especially with small text, but he can listen to a 40 hour audiobook without issues.
I mean, I’m already a big FMA, Fairy Tail, Black Clover, MHA, etc. fan, so picking up series he likes, such as One Piece or Naruto (watching that one- only like 40 episodes in) isn’t too much of a stretch.
We will be doing Manga Monday, reviewing at least one volume each Monday. And then we might discuss anime watches in bonus content posts as well. Like, we just finished Season 1 of Spy x Family today, so we might do a review of that soon.
