I read this book before it released, and I had planned to write up a review before release day so I could gush all about it….but it came out mid-November, and hey look, it’s mid-June and it’s just now getting written up. I have been such a horrible book blogger the past couple of years. But I’m going to try to do better.
Today is going to be a pretty busy day for the husband and I. We’re arriving in Charlotte, North Carolina, and helping to set up the Colorworld Books booth for our first convention as full-time employees. We’ve helped out at a somewhat local convention or two these past few years, but now we get to do even more work that we really enjoy. I’ll probably talk about that more in a future post, likely after we’ve completed the move and settled into the job and our new place more. But it’s going to be fun…and we still have time for our regularly scheduled D&D game, which is fantastic.
Anyway, speaking of being a geek and doing things I enjoy, let’s jump into gushing about another book…
Following Spoiler Alert, Olivia Dade returns with another utterly charming romantic comedy about a devil-may-care actor—who actually cares more than anyone knows—and the no-nonsense woman hired to keep him in line.
Alexander Woodroe has it all. Charm. Sex appeal. Wealth. Fame. A starring role as Cupid on TV’s biggest show, God of the Gates. But the showrunners have wrecked his character, he’s dogged by old demons, and his post-show future remains uncertain. My Thoughts

All right, this is the sequel/companion to Spoiler Alert, which I also read and loved, and there is a third book coming out in November that I also can’t wait to read.
These books contain wonderful characters and highlight a number of characteristics that I honestly think we should see more representation of in stories and shows and such. The leading lady of this story, Lauren, is plus-size. And leading man Alex writes fanfiction about the character he plays in the show Gods of the Gates.
And both Lauren and Alex have their own internal struggles and anxieties and traumas to deal with. It adds even more dimension to the story overall, which I enjoy. There are humorous moments and emotional moments, and it was overall an enjoyable experience to watch Alex tease and flirt with Lauren, and to witness Lauren start to fall for him in spite of her attempts to remain distant and professional.
Of course this book also includes cameos from the leading couple of the previous book, and I feel like some of the characters mentioned from both books so far will either become main characters in future installments or will at least continue making appearances throughout. So far everyone has had some sort of connection to Gods of the Gates.
Actually, now that I’m writing this, it’s making me want to go back and read Spoiler Alert and All the Feels all over again. I’m a sucker for a well-executed story that has some kind of a focus on fandom.
