Hey all, Dani here.
This has been an interesting week. My supervisor has been absent all week, and I just found out that he’s off on COVID-19 leave. Thank goodness I don’t spend a lot of time (if any) around him on a regular basis. Besides, it’s likely that he picked it up while off work for Thanksgiving. And, I just found out this morning that I have a job interview tomorrow morning for a slightly better position at my current workplace. So I’m a bit nervous about that because I don’t have the time for my normal interview prep. I’m just hoping it goes well.
All right, I guess it’s about time to jump into my wrap up of what I read and watched and did over the past week. Oh, and keep a lookout for another blog post coming on Friday where I’ll be talking about the readathon I’m hosting towards the end of the month.
Guess what? I actually did play a little bit of video games in the past week. I wandered around my island for a little while in Animal Crossing, and then I gave myself a little bit of a refresher on Witcher 3. All in all I only did a couple hours of gaming, but it was pretty fun. Maybe I’ll get a little more game time in this upcoming weekend; I don’t know yet.
Okay, now for watches. Damian and I have almost finished season 5 of “Supernatural.” We also managed to finish season 2 of “One Punch Man,” and we did a re-watch of “Mythica: A Quest for Heroes,” and “Mythica: The Darkspore.” I also enjoyed a nice little throwback and watched “Princess of Thieves.” Okay, fine, I also started watching “The Queen’s Gambit” AGAIN. This show is just stuck in my head; I can’t help it.
Moving on to the reading portion of today’s post.
Overall not a huge reading wrap-up for the past week, but it’s better than nothing. And okay, technically I more skimmed through Heroes’ Feast: The Official D&D Cookbook than actually read through it, but I’m still counting it, and boy did it make me hungry. There were a few stories I really liked in Vampires Never Get Old edited by Zoraida Cordova and Natalie C Parker, but most of them just ended up being okay to me. And then I mostly listened to, but partly read, Ready Player Two by Ernest Cline and narrated by Wil Wheaton. I’m going to try to get reviews up sometime soon-ish (I hope).
I really need to focus and get these current reads off my list, because a couple of them have been sitting unread for the past few weeks, and then a couple I’ve been reading 20 pages here or there, which isn’t all that much with giant fantasy tomes. So yes, I’m still working on reading The Thousand Deaths of Ardor Benn by Tyler Whitesides, The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab, The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson, and The Archive of the Forgotten by A.J. Hackwith. I’ve also added my first read for Diverse December to the currently reading list, and that is Super Fake Love Song by David Yoon.
As for my upcoming reads, I think I want to binge my way through some contemporary romances for a little bit before I really do a deep dive into more fantasy reads on my potential Diverse December TBR. So at the moment I have my eyes on Chasing Lucky by Jenn Bennett, The Wedding Party by Jasmine Guillory, and Get a Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert. I’m excited to read these, and I also think that they will be pretty quick reads, which is also nice.
That is all from me for today. Let me know what you’re reading in the comments, and I’ll be back soon with more bookish content.
Enjoy your reading!
I’m currently reading The Poppy War and listening to Oathbringer!

The Poppy War was a great book. I’m hoping to finish the trilogy by reading The Burning God this month.
Enjoy your reading as well!
