Weekly Wrap-Up (70)

Hey all, Dani here.

Oh man, today felt like such a Monday. It has been so bad. I guess I can blame the fact that it is the first day back to work after our long weekend vacation. But it was a really nice vacation, and so I think it’s hitting us especially hard now. All I keep telling myself is that we will be doing another cabin getaway in October for our honeymoon, so it will be fine. We just need to get through the next few months first.

No gaming update. I took my Nintendo Switch with me to the cabin, but I spent more time reading and watching TV (and enjoying the hot tub), and cooking, than I did wanting to play games. And that’s okay. But I might want to pick up some game time soon. We’ll see what happens.

Watches: “Rising of the Shield Hero”, “Akame Ga Kill,” “Black Panther,” “Ready Player One,” and “The Originals” Season 3. So Damian thought I would enjoy the adventures of the Shield Hero, and particularly that I would enjoy his companions. We’re about halfway through the first season, and I agree with his sentiments entirely. Also, I’m really glad that I looked up the future of the series, because it turns out that it has been renewed for a second and third season. We’re also continuing our re-watch of the assassins of Night Raid, so that’s fun. And while I was reading at the cabin I wanted something on in the background so I browsed the TV Guide and saw that “Black Panther” had just started so I half watched/half listened to that, and then it was followed by RPO, so again I half watched/half listened. Totally worth it.

Read in last week: Black Clover Vol 21 by Yuki Tabata, My Hero Academia Vol 24 by Kohei Horikoshi, Otaku by Chris Kluwe, Akata Witch by Nnedi Okorafor, Beach Read by Emily Henry, My Status as an Assassin Obviously Exceeds the Hero’s Vol 1 by Matsuri Akai, Edens Zero Vol 2 by Hiro Mashima.

As you can see, I did accomplish a decent amount of reading while at the cabin. I had ambitions to read a whole lot more but…it was a kind of romantic cabin getaway…so I got distracted. I’m still pretty happy with what I read though.

Current reads: I am currently reading We Set the Dark on Fire by Tehlor Kay Mejia, The Gilded Ones by Namina Forna, A Song of Wraiths and Ruins by Roseanne A Brown, and The Fifth Season by N.K. Jemisin

I’ll be honest…I’m not all that far into these books yet, so they might end up being some of the first books I complete in July, but we’ll see how things go. I’m enjoying them so far, but I’m not reading super quickly at the moment. I’m hoping the upcoming long weekend will help with that. I just have to make it until the July 2-July 5 holiday weekend. I can get there.

Want to read next: The Rage of Dragons by Evan Winters, House of Dragons by Jessica Cluess

Maybe. Hopefully, anyway. I have been a little bit slow on reading since I got home from the cabin. Plus, I feel like I’m getting so busy with my jobs and my writing and blogging demands as well. I’m going to need to seriously sit down and figure out a schedule so I can make this all work.

What are you reading right now? I’d love to know. I’ll be back soon with more bookish content.
