Good morning and happy Monday. I think, anyway. I hope this Monday is treating you well, and that it is the start to a nice week. As for me, I’m already looking forward to this weekend. Damian and I are doing our long weekend cabin getaway, and it should be really nice.
All right, well I don’t have a lot to put into this intro section, so I guess I’m just going to say welcome to the start of another Manga Monday, and let’s go ahead and jump into this first review.

I read this as part of Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon April 2020
Deciding to binge-read several volumes of Fairy Tail for this 24 Hour Readathon was a great idea…unless you think of the fact that it now has me wanting to go back to the very beginning of the anime and watch every episode again. Damian and I just finished rewatching the Grand Magic Games and Tartaros arcs, so we can get back to watching (and hopefully finishing) the final season.
This volume of the Tower of Heaven arc feels like there is so much plotting and maneuvering behind the scenes that we don’t know about yet, and I find that to be fascinating. There are really high stakes building up the intensity here. Will the Magic Council release Etherion and destroy some of our favorite Fairy Tail members? Will they find a way to succeed and defeat Jellal before the Etherion strikes? What will happen? Well, keep reading and you’ll find out.
But seriously, if you think about the fact that this series went for 63 volumes then wondering if your favorite characters of the main cast are going to survive seems a bit silly. It’s clear that they do considering they’re still on the covers for the spin-off manga.
It just makes me wonder what it would have been like to be reading these as they released, and having to wait that couple months for the next volume. That would have been an agonizing time, one I’m sure a lot of readers can relate to. Those end of book cliffhangers can be wonderfully frustrating.
Honestly the build-up of tension and the increasing threat in this volume and the arc overall is really great. I was on the edge of my seat reading this, and I already knew what happened because of watching the anime already.
Actually I might need to take another arc or two with me to the cabin.
