Well, since my Calendar Girls post went up a bit later than expected, this post needed to go up a bit later as well. Good evening everyone. It’s Manga Monday on the blog once again, but because of my Calendar Girls monthly post, there’s only one manga review today, but I’ll be back with two again next week. Oh, I’ve actually picked up a new-to-me manga, and I’m really excited to talk to you guys about it pretty soon. It’s going to be great.

Anyway, let’s just go ahead and jump into today’s review.

I read this as part of Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon in April 2020

The Tower of Heaven arc continues as we dive even deeper into the situation, learning even more about the characters involved. Also, I love how this arc shows how Juvia is really trying to be worthy of joining Fairy Tail, especially after her involvement in the Fairy Tail/Phantom Lord conflict.

It is just so fun to binge-read through these volumes, already being so familiar with the characters and the different story arcs. I think I’m able to follow along in battle sequences and such better because I already know how the attacks and counter-attacks fit together to make the full battle. Sometimes when I read the manga before watching the anime, I get a bit muddled and lost during big combat pages. It all just looks like endless panels of jagged explosion and collision effects, at least to me, so I can’t follow them all that easily.

I love that we get these arcs that give us glimpses into the backstories of some of our favorite characters as well.  It definitely enhances what we knew and enjoyed about the characters already, and gives us a better understanding of how they came to be the people that they are today.

I so love reading and watching “Fairy Tail.” It’s just a fantastic series.
