Hey all, Dani here.
I’m going to be honest…I feel wonderfully obsessed at the moment and it is actually invigorating and making me feel like I can do amazing things. Seriously, listening to the Lumaworld audiobook last week, as well as watching more “Fairy Tail,” and then thinking about “Black Clover” and “My Hero Academia”…all of these things have people who never give up and just keep fighting and working, finding ways past their limits and just figuring things out. They are about digging deep and being part of something more. Well, it inspired me to do some organizing around the house and I finally got my office space set up in the master bedroom.
If Wendy and Gabe can keep going in spite of insane odds, if the Black Bulls can find ways to surpass their limits, if the members of Fairy Tail are willing to give everything for their belief in their guild’s purpose and their guild mates, if Deku and the other heroes in training can find ways to adapt and grow and keep fighting, then you know what, I can put forth the effort to go for my dreams.
And that means working on my novels. It also means gushing even more about the Colorworld series, and hoping to find others who wish to delve into the series with me. So I’m hosting a readalong. This event will actually take us through the rest of 2020, which gives us all something to look forward to. I know I’m excited to read these books again, this time with other readers, both old and new to the series.
First things first though, I would love to help people out if they want to join me on this quest, at least in the beginning. So long as I can gift you a Kindle copy of the book–I’m based in the US, so I don’t believe I can buy copies through foreign Amazon sites–I plan to do so. Up to 10 different readers.
That’s right people. I am going to buy 10 people Kindle copies of the first book in the Colorworld series. I’ll just need your Kindle e-mail so I can gift it to you.
Then, just in time for Christmas, I’m going to do another giveaway for anyone who has participated in at least one of the readalongs for books 1-5. I will be gifting one signed paperback set of Colorworld, Teleworld, Lumaworld, Shadoworld, and Dreamworld to a randomly selected person. That is a $70 USD set, not including taxes or shipping. Speaking of, sadly, because of shipping prices, I can’t do international shipping–unless the international winner is willing to split that cost with me.
Colorworld is 352 pages long (the original version anyway) with 45 chapters total. There is also an illustrated edition, the e-book, or the audiobook. I do definitely recommend listening to this book if you are someone who enjoys audibooks. The voice actor cast is absolutely incredible. This first book just features Todd Haberkorn and Cherami Leigh, but they have also added Brittney Karbowski, David Wald, and Chiemeri Osemele.
The readalong for June 1-June 29 will cover Colorworld, the first book of the series. I’ll have the book details below the cover image.
And you can check out my post with the full readalong details here.
June 1-8: ———Read Chapters 1-11
June 8-15: ——-Read Chapters 12-22
June 15-22: —–Read Chapters 23-33
June 22-29: —–Read Chapters 34-Epilogue
My plan is to have the discussion posts for each week posted on Sundays…so June 7, June 14, June 21, and June 28. Join in on those posts any time you’d like. Just be forewarned that I cannot guarantee that the discussions will be spoiler free. If you want spoiler free information about this series, you can check out my book review.
Wen knows what love looks like. Since her mom died over a year ago, she’s seen it every day on her orphaned younger brother’s face. Wen’s made good on her promise to her mom that she’d take care of Ezra, even quitting her carefree party-girl ways to become a hard-working college student so she can provide for him.
Wen knows what love feels like, too. Because when she touches people, she feels what they do. “Uniquely perceptive” is what her mom called it, and Wen’s not going to argue; she doesn’t know any different.
But an energy therapy study changes not only what Wen knows about her unusual gift; it also changes her. Now, instead of feeling emotions, her touch brings death to others. No one is safe around her, especially Ezra.
Wen turns to energy healers for help. And that’s where she meets him: Mr. Tenacious and Audacious, Gabe Dumas. He knows about love, too; he speaks it in ways Wen has never experienced. And he’s never even touched her.
With her heart unraveling, Wen discovers a world only she can see. It may offer hope for her condition… or it may be better left hidden. *Intended for 16 and up
Does that sound interesting to you? Let me know if you’d like to join. Seriously, I would love to buy a Kindle copy for 10 different participants. This is one of my favorite books to gift to people, and I would love to help get this series into the hands of all the readers out there.
