Hey all, Dani here.
I want to read more books while on my winter shutdown from work, and so I just decided a couple hours ago that I want to create/host a readathon…because, why not?
So, I love the idea of the Christmas Book Flood, and for the past few years I’ve wanted to spend my Christmas Eve cuddled up on the couch, drinking hot cocoa, and reading books, but due to family obligations I haven’t been able to make it happen. This year I actually have the time free, so I went out and bought some mini marshmallows and some extra hot cocoa.
Then I thought that maybe other people might want to join me, so #JolabokaflodReadathon was born.
When? 6pm on December 24th through 6am on December 25th to coincide with the Christmas Eve exchange and reading evening.
Do you have to read the whole time? No, of course not. Even just sitting down to read for an hour or so is perfectly fine. But if you want to stay up all night reading then that’s great too.
If you post about this on Twitter, use the hashtag #JolabokaflodReadathon so I can follow along.
Here’s my TBR. It’s probably a little over-ambitious, but I can’t help myself. I have one manga, one light novel, one contemporary romance, and one shorter fantasy, and then two longer fantasy books. Honestly, if I’m able to really focus on reading during the 12 hours of the readathon, I might actually be able to finish most of them, but we’ll find out tomorrow.
Well that’s all for my impromptu readathon creation and announcement and TBR. Join me if you can, and depending on how things go on my end, I might start trying to do this every year. I like shorter readathons.
That’s all for now, but I’ll be back soon with more bookish content.
Love the idea, I am in ❤📚
I got 2 history books I am in the middle of reading.
Cicero by Anthony Everett, and Catives and Captives: The 1704 French and Indian Raid on Deerfield, by Evan Haefeli and Kevin Sweeney.
