Weekly Wrap-Up (38)

Hey all, Dani here.

Well another week has come and gone, and

I’m going to start by linking to some of my backlog posts that I have posted in the past few days. I’m almost caught up, so that’s nice.

The only posts I need to catch up on now are a few of my Weekend Writer posts, but those ones take a little extra writing and effort, so I’m going to try and get them up as soon as possible, but it may take a little bit. I’ll definitely let you know when they’re up though.

Next, I suppose I should give an update to how my NaNoWriMo project is going. I was doing so well the first few days of the month. Yes, those were the weekend days, so it was a bit easier to get my words down. I managed to keep up with my daily word count for those days. But then Monday and Tuesday came, and I had to do a whole lot of business-y writing at work, and I ended up being really tired by the time I got home and made dinner.

So yeah, those days I only wrote a couple hundred words each day. Which, okay, yes, that is still progress. By the overall wordcount tracker on NaNoWriMo, to be on track I should be at 10K–or technically a tiny smidge over that–by the end of the day. I’m at about 6K, so I have a little catch-up to do. And I’m pretty sure I’ll be able to do that this weekend. Honestly I’m just so excited to be writing again.

Yes, most of my words feel like they’re very scattered and filled with rambling inner monologues, but at least I’m starting to get the story that’s been living in my heart for almost two years now down on the page. I can’t wait to keep writing and get this story finished and edited and out in the world.

Umm…oh, I should actually talk about watches too. In the last week we’ve watched “Brave,” “The Princess & The Frog,” “Spider-Man: Far From Home,”  “Moana,” and “The Hunchback of Notre Dame.”

Finally, I guess I should talk about reading. I do have a book I’m taking to work and reading on the brief breaks I’m getting at my new job. And obviously I’m reading this book because I tried to read it once before and I just wasn’t feeling it. But now I’m a little over a month away from the release of the first season of the Netflix series based on the books, so I really want to understand the world, the characters, and the lore, before I start to watch it.

And that is all I have in regards to reading and writing updates for the past week. If everything goes well then my reading updates will actually be pretty small for the whole month of November, but I’ll make up for it with writing updates.

How is your November going? Let me know in the comments, and I’ll be back soon with more bookish content.

    1. It feels weird to be writing a contemporary romance instead of my usual fantasy, but I’m happy to be getting words on the page. They will take a lot of clean-up and editing in the revision stage, but that’s okay.
