Okay, yeah, sorry this is late. The day after a convention is usually a difficult day, but it is especially a lazy/recovery day after working a con. Though both Damian and I are rather tired, we are also feeling quite energized. There’s nothing quite like soaking up that energy and excitement from hanging out with fellow geeks and just being surrounded by people who understand you. It makes it especially difficult to return to the dull day job of repeated monotony.
Anyway, let’s jump into today’s manga review, continuing along with a newer series that I’m really enjoying right now.

Summary

Aoi wasn’t the only orphan her grandfather Shiro took in. Before she went to live with him, he rescued the spider demons Akatsuki and Suzuran and put them to work as unpaid servants! Now Aoi is questioning everything she thought she knew about her upbringing. What was Shiro up to? And more importantly, does that make the spider demons family?!
My Thoughts
Rating: 5 stars
There is definitely still a good focus on food in this volume. I’m getting that it will just continue to be a very big part of the series as a whole, especially considering that Aoi is going to be opening a restaurant in the spirit world.
I also really enjoy that we’re learning more about the characters and the world and the backstory of how all of this came to be. Aoi especially is learning that there was a lot more to her grandfather’s past and actions than she originally realized. The relationships between humans and demons can be a complex thing.
I know this is sort of a short review, but I really am enjoying this series. Honestly, I would really like to see it as an anime, because I do like going deeper into the story. Plus, hey, imagine all the food prep montages that are possible with a series like this one.
