Weekly Wrap-Up (31)

Hey all, Dani here.

Whew, it has been a roller coaster of a day, and I can say that I’m glad it’s almost over. We still have a few last minute crafting things to do tonight before bed, because after work tomorrow we only come home long enough to drop off our work things and grab our con bags. It is almost time for Cincinnati Comic Expo and I am so excited. I’ll probably have a wrap-up post for this weekend up sometime next week.

Until then, let’s continue with our regularly scheduled topic of conversation, which is the weekly wrap up. It’s where I talk about what I’ve done, read, and watched in the last week. So I think it’s time to get this show on the road.

Let’s start once again with watches. We finally saw the live action “The Lion King,” and we re-watched “A League of Their Own.” I also started a re-watch of Haven Season 4, because I was just in that sort of mood. And we’re trying to catch back up on “Black Clover,” which I have missed watching. I can’t wait to have good decent and reliable internet again…though who knows how long it will be until we get that again. Oh, and we started watching Book Two of “Avatar: the Last Airbender.” We just got to where Toph is introduced, which means we’re at my favorite part of the series, because Toph is my favorite character (though Uncle Iroh is another favorite).

Okay, so I ended up finishing Well Met by Jen DeLuca last Thursday, and then I immediately dove into Uncanny Collateral by Brian McClellan, which I also finished on Thursday. After that I picked up Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir to read, because it has been one of my most anticipated releases for a few months now. I’m actually still reading that one because I haven’t had a whole lot of reading time for the past several days, and I’m finding that I need to focus a bit more to get into this book. It’s good and interesting; it’s just a bit different from what I normally read. Oh, and today I also read Critical Role: Vox Machina Origins Series II Issue #3, so I do feel a bit accomplished.

My current reads are Gideon the Ninth and The Bookish Life of Nina Hill by Abbi Waxman. The latter book I picked up last night when I was having trouble sleeping. I’ve read a few chapters and I’m mostly liking it so far, but I’m not feeling a driving need to binge read it right now, so it’ll probably be a side read, because there are some other books that I kinda would rather be reading right now. I’m pretty much in a huge fantasy mood at the moment.

Okay, for my next reads, my plan was to jump into both Serpent & Dove and Five Dark Fates. However, today I received word through NetGalley that Wednesday Books has granted my wish for a galley of Ruthless Gods by Emily A Duncan, which is my top most highly anticipated release of 2020. So there’s obviously a pretty good chance that I’ll either jump into reading that this weekend, or that I’ll re-read Wicked Saints and then jump into this one.

Well, that does it from me for today. I hope you are all having a wonderful week. Let me know in the comments what you’re currently reading, and I’ll be back soon with more bookish content.
