Weekly Wrap-Up (27)

Hey all, Dani here.

Wow, somehow we are almost finished with August already. Where has this month gone? I’m looking at my blog schedule and my monthly reading wrap up list, and neither is what I expect it to be. Wow. I should probably start prepping my wrap up post…and figure out what I’m doing for the month of September.

Anyway, today is my weekly wrap up, where I talk about what I’ve read, what I’ve watched, what I’ve done, and what I am hoping to read and/or watch very soon. So let’s just get started.

Okay, let’s start with what I’ve completed in the past week. Those reads include There Will Come a Darkness by Katy Rose Pool, Critical Role Vox Machina Origins Series 2 Issue #2 by Matthew Mercer, Olivia Samson, Jody Houser, Msassyk, and Ariana Maher, Thor: The Goddess of Thunder by Jason Aaron, Russell Dauterman, Jorge Molina, and Matthew Wilson, Thor: Who Holds the Hammer? by Jason Aaron, Russell Dauterman, and Matthew Wilson, Shuri: The Search for Black Panther by Nnedi Okorafor, Leonardo Romero, and Jordie Bellaire, and My Hero Academia Volume 20 by Kohei Horikoshi.

My big current read is The Eye of the World by Robert Jordan–this is a re-read, but it has been a number of years since I last read any of this series so in some ways it feels like I’m reading it for the first time all over again. It’s wonderful. I mean, I’m almost halfway through this massive tome already and it has only been a couple days.

I’m also reading more of Wonderbook: The Illustrated Guide to Creating Imaginative Fiction by Jeff Vandermeer so I can jot down more notes for future Weekend Writer posts, and I’m reading On Being Stuck: Tapping Into the Creative Power of Writer’s Block by Laraine Herring, also for my Weekend Writer posts. Oh, and my e-book read is The Ten Thousand Doors of January by Alix E. Harrow, because I need to really buckle down and focus on my TBR for the NEWTs and the #Reviewathon.

Next I’m hoping to read The Girl the Sea Gave Back by Adrienne Young, Tiger Queen by Annie Sullivan, and/or Crown of Coral and Pearl by Mara Rutherford. These are all books that count for both my NEWTs and the #Reviewathon, so I’m really hoping to make a lot of progress on both book challenges.

Finally, our watches for the past week include the first season of the animated “X-Men” series from the 90s, a re-watch of “The Princess Bride,” watching “How to Train Your Dragon: Hidden World” for the first time, and re-watching “Shazam!” So not a bad week overall.

What have you been reading this week? Let’s chat about books in the comments and I’ll be back soon with more bookish content.
