Weekly Wrap-Up (25)

Hey all, Dani here.

I feel like today’s wrap up isn’t all that exciting of a post. But then again, most of my excitement from the past week centers on our trip to Gen Con, and I’ve already given you pretty much all the details from that (Day One, Day Two, Day Three, Day Four). Although, technically, if any of you would like me to write up more in-depth posts about the Writer’s Symposium panels I went to, let me know, because I will happily type up my notes and share what I learned.

Anyway, I guess I should share what I’ve read in the past week, which is…not much. I completely and utterly failed Dewey’s 24 Hour Reverse Summer Readathon by reading ZERO pages. There was just so much going on at Gen Con, and I just did not end up opening any of my books.

But I did accomplish some reading, mainly in the form of the graphic novels I picked up at the comic book store (Downtown Comics) in Indy while we were there.

I’ll have a more exciting reading wrap up post next week (hopefully). All right, let’s just jump into it.

Books read: Ms Marvel Vol 7, The Mighty Thor Vol 1, and Hawkeye: Kate Bishop Vol 1.

Oh, and I guess I should say that Damian and I finished watching season 6 of The Big Bang Theory, watched all of season 7, and are currently about halfway through season 8. Marathoning the show after we got home from Gen Con actually helped us not sink into that after convention dunk or depression that would normally have hit.

The Dragon Republic

My current read is The Dragon Republic by R.F. Kuang. So much stuff is going on right now, and I’m really hoping I can find the time to keep on reading. I’d like to finish this book in the next day or two.

My next reads are going to be House of Salt and Sorrows by Erin A. Craig, Crown of Coral and Pearl by Mara Rutherford, and To Kill a Kingdom by Alexandra Christo. So yeah, based on what I’m reading, I’m going to be doing great with NetGalley’s #Reviewathon, but I somewhat feel like a failure already when it comes to my NEWTs. I know I shouldn’t be thinking that way, especially when we’re only like a week into August. I still have plenty of time to read the seven books I need to qualify as a librarian.

So yeah, that’s all from me for today. What are you reading right now? Let me know in the comments and I’ll be back soon with more bookish content.
