Hey all, Dani here.
Whew, it has been a long week already, and we’re only halfway through it. This weekend is my Man of Honor’s birthday(Friday) and this weekend is also Damian’s birthday(Sunday). So I get to celebrate my two favorite guys, which is awesome. Of course I’m also hoping to accomplish some more reading, because this month is almost over. That means that we are almost halfway through this year. I can’t believe that June is almost over. It feels like it just started.
Anyway, let’s get started with all the bookish updates from the past week.
Let’s start with the books I’ve finished in the past week: Soul of the Sword by Julie Kagawa, Kingsbane by Claire Legrand, and I think by the time this post goes live I should have Gameboard of the Gods by Richelle Mead finished as well. That means that I’ve finished another three books for #AGameofBooksathon. I have almost finished all of the prompts, which is awesome.
So, for my current reads, I’m working on Blood Bound by Rachel Vincent, and Call it What You Want by Brigid Kemmerer. But both are ones I should finish pretty quickly, so I might as well say that The Shadowglass by Rin Chupeco is a current read as well. Finishing Blood Bound and The Shadowglass will complete all 11 prompts for #AGameofBooksathon. Blood Bound also qualifies for Jazzy June because it is a re-read, which is great. I’m doing really good with my reading challenges this month.
Well, except for one of the challenges, and that is GLBT Book Month, so I’m hoping to dedicate the rest of my June to reading some of the Pride books I’ve been meaning to read for quite some time. I don’t know if I’m going to pick up some contemporary, some fantasy, or a little blend of both, but we can definitely expect next week’s update to include a lot more books celebrating the greatness that is the LGBTQIAP+ community.
Oh, and as for watches, we’ve finished about half of season four of “The Big Bang Theory,” but I think we’re going to put our show watching on hold so we can try and get all caught up on Critical Role; we’re four episodes behind, and we want to be all caught up before we go to Gen Con and see the live show.
Enjoy your reading!
