It’s Monday, and so that must mean it is time for me to talk about another volume of a manga series that I’ve been reading. I still have a little bit of packing, and a lot of cleaning to do, so let’s just get started.

Summary

When you’re not a licensed hero, sometimes you need all the help you can get. For Koichi, unexpected—but not entirely unwelcome—assistance comes in the form of Makoto Tsukauchi, one of Koichi’s friends at school. Makoto’s got a self-confident vibe that makes Pop Step more than a little anxious and…jealous? Meanwhile, out in the streets of the Naruhata district, the scheming bee user Hachisuka continues her distribution of the “instant villain” drug, Trigger…
My Thoughts

Oooh…this volume brings in some new characters with new Quirks. Yay. One of the new characters is actually the sister of a minor recurring character from the main series. It’s great that they keep all these small connections to tie it into the overall world and story.
I love the new details we are learning about Pop Step and Knuckleduster in here as well, and in some of the bonus content it was mentioned that Knuckleduster has a serious storyline coming up, so I’m excited to see that. I feel like this series started a bit slower, but it is definitely picking up the pace now, and we are seeing a lot of development and growth from all of the main characters.
This volume also had a couple special issues, which gave more insight into both Aizawa/Eraser Head and Toshinori/All Might. They were pretty intriguing. And again, more little tie-ins to the main series, which is great, especially as this spin-off series is technically a prequel of sorts to MHA.
