#ReadathonByZoe is Back! It’s TBR Time

Hey all, Dani here.

So obviously, 24 Hour Readathons are my favorite kind of readathons. I’ll be back next month talking about Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon, but one of the other ones I try to join every time it is announced is a 24 hour event created and hosted by Zoe (AKA readbyzoe on YouTube). I’ve just really enjoyed watching her readathon vlogs, so joining in was the obvious next step.

Recently Zoe posted a video on BookTube where she announced the next readathon event…and I’ll be completely honest when I say that I have no idea if I’ll actually have the time to participate for too much of the event, but I’m going to try anyway. Before I start talking about what I’m hoping to perhaps get around to reading, I should probably start with the when/what/how announcement portion of this post.

So Readathon by Zoe: Gratitude Edition will take place all day on Saturday, March 30th, 2019 (from 12:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m.) Now here is what is really important. It is based on the time zone you live in. So no matter what this readathon goes from midnight until 11:59pm).

Below are the “rules” Zoe has provided for this particular edition of the readathon. To “win” the readathon, you don’t have to follow any of them – except to read something! Seriously, you could read for ten minutes at some point during the 24 hours and congratulations, you’re a winner.

1. Read a book you are grateful for  (ex. childhood favorite, book that got you into reading, a book that means a lot to you, a book you read with a dear friend, etc.)

2. Complete an act of kindness  (ex. pick up litter, compliment somebody’s personality, donate clothes to a shelter, bring reusable bags to the store, etc.)

3. Read something and have fun!

Now, with all of that out of the way, I just want to take a moment to say that Damian and I have started moving into our house. We are painting the walls tomorrow, and then will be trying to move as many of the boxes as we can there on our own. We won’t have our friends and their trucks until next weekend (which is when the bookcases and the big appliances will be moved). But we have to be completely moved out of our apartment by the end of this month, so we want to get all of the stuff moved quickly so we have plenty of time to make sure the apartment is a clean as possible. It would be nice to get the security deposit back so we can use it on furniture and such.

So, with this readathon taking place on the final weekend of March, we could possibly be entirely finished moving and be in the middle of the unpacking stage…or we could be running around like chickens with our heads cut off as we try to scramble around and finish moving and cleaning. Only time will tell.

Okay, well here’s my tentative TBR. For the majority of March I have been completely focused on my Middle Grade reads, and ignoring everything I had on my list for Monstrous March, so I should probably try and read some of those.

I am really excited to start reading the third book in the Monster of Selkirk series, because I have absolutely been loving this series. Even on my book buying restriction, I still ended up splurging and buying it because I really needed to continue on to learn what is going to happen next.

Next up is a debut that I have been hearing quite a few good things about, and so I don’t want to take too long before I jump into the story, as I’m always looking for new characters, books, and authors to get hooked on.

The third book on my list is one that has been on my TBR for about a year now, and I’d like to get it read so I can make an attempt at getting a galley or ARC for the sequel, because it does sound like a rather good story concept.

Finally is the sequel to a book I devoured and ended up loving last year. I need to find out what will happen next with the Elementae, so I definitely hope that I can somehow have this readathon day free and can read all of these books.

Okay, well that is all from me today. Have a wonderful day and a fantastic weekend. I’ll be back soon with more bookish content.
