Weekly Wrap-Up (3)

Hey all, Dani here.

Wow, well it’s already time for the weekly wrap-up again. Time sure is flying. Before I jump into too much of my progress over the last week, I’m just going to start by saying that I have temporarily set aside my current/continuing read from last week. I am really enjoying The Last Magician by Lisa Maxwell BUT I can also say that I am starting to get super stressed with everything going on right now and all the moving preparations and such, so I need light, easy, fast reads.

That’s why I’m glad that it is March where I’m trying to focus on reading Middle Grade books. It is super great timing, frankly. So I’ll probably pick The Last Magician back up once we’ve closed on the house and started moving.

Until then I am definitely devouring as many Middle Grade books as I can. So let’s go over what I’ve read recently.

Let’s see, in the past week I have read Again, But Better by Christine Riccio (expect a review sometime in April), City of Ghosts by Victoria Schwab, and Story Thieves: The Stolen Chapters by James Riley.  Thus far it has been a pretty darn good month for reading, and I’m hoping to continue that over the rest of March.

As for my current reads, I’m working on finishing up The Missing: Sent by Margaret Peterson Haddix, and then I’ll be starting Dragon Pearl by Yoon Ha Lee. I think there are three or four Rick Riordan or Rick Riordan Presents books on my TBR stack, so I’m hoping to devour all of them in the next couple of months.

Okay, so for the books that I am hoping to read soon, that list includes Fablehaven by Brandon Mull, Wundersmith: The Calling of Morrigan Crow by Jessica Townsend, The Storm Runner by J.C. Cervantes. And oh man, I just realized that if I manage to get through these, then I’ll only have four Middle Grade books left on my list for this month. Honestly I didn’t expect to do this well for the month, but I’m really enjoying my reads.

Oh, and we also had a nice weekend of Disney movies, so we watched Up, Robin Hood, Oliver & Company, and Sword in the Stone. Plus we completely caught up with all of the released episodes of Black Clover (season 2). We’ve made it a few more episodes into Wynonna Earp as well.

I hope you are all having a lovely March so far. Let me know if you’ve been reading anything great, and I’ll be back soon with more bookish content.

    1. I was quite happy with Christine’s book. It turns out I was in the mood for contemporary and I read the book at just the right time. So I’m pleased that I enjoyed the book and I look forward to seeing what she comes up with next.

Oh, and I am loving Dragon Pearl. I might actually finish it later this evening.
