Hey all, Dani here.
It’s time once again for another installment of my weekly update post, where I talk about everything I’ve read, everything I’ve watched, and well, everything else that is going on in my life.
Let’s start with reading. I finished just one book in the past week, and that was Warrior of the Wild by Tricia Levenseller. It was fantastic, and I read it pretty quickly, which I’m happy with, but I didn’t give myself enough reading time over the past week. The stress of trying to get our apartment packed and getting everything as clean as possible may actually be getting to me, which is unfortunate. Then I finished up Manga Madness Readathon (round 5) by reading Black Clover Volume 10 and Akame Ga Kill Volume 3. So yeah, I only read 8 volumes of manga during the readathon, but I guess it’s better than anything.
My current read is still The Last Magician by Lisa Maxwell, and honestly because of the length of it, I probably won’t finish it until the very end of the month, so I’ll be starting on my March TBR right after.
Okay, moving on to watching. Damian and I are still watching “Black Clover,” and we are now just six episodes away from finishing the first season. Oh my goodness, it is such a great show, and we’re in the middle of the water temple, and things are getting super serious and intense right now. I love it. It’s even more amusing since I know what’s going to happen and Damian doesn’t.
We did finish season one of “Wynonna Earp,” and then we started watching the second season. We’ve only made it through a couple episodes, but we are still really liking the show.
Our other regular watch is that of D&D Web series “Critical Role.” Because most episodes are around 4 hours long, we pretty much have to keep up with it week by week or else it becomes immensely more difficult to catch up.
Speaking of D&D, last weekend was our really busy schedule, with our bi-weekly D&D campaign at our local nerd store on Friday night, and then our bi-weekly Pathfinder session at our apartment on Saturday afternoon. We really have a great time with these geek-filled weekends, but we also dearly love the off weekends where we don’t have that much planned.
Finally, we are still going strong with our language lessons through Duolingo. As we are both learning Japanese, we have a goal of learning enough to buy a manga volume in Japanese and read/understand it.
How was your week? Let me know in the comments. That’s all from me today, and I’ll be back soon with more bookish content.
