Weekly Wrap-Up (8)

Hey all, Dani here.

Whew, okay, so I have quite a few books I can talk about with my wrap-up this week. Oh, and watch list as well. Unfortunately I can’t say that I have anything really to talk about when it comes to writing. That’s pretty much because of the stress of trying to get internet at the house.. I usually write on GoogleDocs, which obviously needs internet to operate. So, I plan to do a lot of writing catch-up in the next several days, because I’m basically a week behind on Camp NaNoWriMo.

Anyway, so the first book I finished in the last week was The Princess and the Fangirl, and I posted my review last night. Then I started reading We Rule the Night, which I finished during Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon. My official readathon reading began with My Hero Academia Vol 18, The Girl from the Other Side Vol 6, How Not to Summon a Demon Lord Vol 2, and How Not to Summon a Demon Lord Vol 3. I really enjoy starting reading events with manga, because they only take me 30-ish minutes to read each volume, which makes them ideal for readathons where you want to read a lot. Then I finished We Rule the Night, and started The Devouring Gray, which I didn’t finish until Monday night. I finished my readathon by reading The Wicked + The Divine Vol 8. So during the readathon I ended up finishing 6 books, for a total of 1,212 pages read in 24 hours, which is not bad at all.

My current read is Once & Future and I am absolutely LOVING THIS BOOK. I can definitely tell that it will be hitting my list of favorites. And I do believe the next book I’m going to pick up will be Sky Without Stars, because clearly right now I am definitely into classic stories that are getting a modern or futuristic retelling. Once & Future is Arthurian legends, and Sky Without Stars is Les Miserables.

Okay, and as for watches over the past week, we’ve almost finished Doctor Who (season 10), we are mostly finished with season 1 of The Big Bang Theory, and I’ve re-watched pretty much all of the first season of Game of Thrones. I also watched a few episodes of Mutant X, which was a show I really liked when I was younger.

Umm…I think that’s all for now, but I will definitely be back soon with more bookish content.
