My End of Year NetGalley Reads

Hey all, Sam here.

At this point in the month I usually do a post that is my anticipated reads for the following month (and those are typically the books releasing in that month that I’ve been approved to read through NetGalley). But as I was looking at those upcoming releases, I noticed that I’ve actually only been approved for one December release…so I figured I would just combine my November and December reads for this particular post.

I did really well with reading and reviewing my October NetGalley reads (or most of them anyway), so I’m hoping I can continue that pace going forward, even if I’m needing to go back and play catch-up on all the books I still need to read and review. It’s going to take quite a while for me to catch-up (if I can ever manage to get through my backlist, anyway).

All right, let’s go ahead and look at my November (and one December) releases that I’ve been approved for on NetGalley.

A Fate So Cold by Amanda Foody and C.L. Herman (Nov 4), A Heart of Crimson Flames by A.K. Mulford (Nov 4), The Blackfire Blade by James Logan (Nov 4), The Fangirl Project by Beth Reekles (Nov 4)

In order for me to review A Heart of Crimson Flames, I would need to read the whole series, and I plan on doing that because I have all three of them now, so you’ll probably see a review blitz for them like what is currently happening with a couple other series on the blog now. Likewise, I don’t think I’ll have a timely review up for The Blackfire Blade because I do need to read the first book still. But it is definitely on my list and hopefully I can get around to it soon.

The Burning Queen by Aparna Verma (Nov 4), This Gilded Abyss by Rebecca Thorne (Nov 11), Brigands & Breadknives by Travis Baldree (Nov 11)

I actually read Brigands & Breadknives in September, so I have already gotten the review post written up. I think it’s scheduled for posting in a couple days. The reason I haven’t posted it already is because I realized that I never wrote up reviews for the previous books in the series, so I’m doing them all in publication order. Oh, and I don’t know if my review for The Burning Queen will be up in November (but I’m going to try to get it up in November), because I do still need to read the first book.

Violet Thistlewaite is Not a Villain Anymore by Emily Krempholtz (Nov 18), The Bookshop Below by Georgia Summers (Nov 18), The Once and Future Queen by Paula Lafferty (Dec 16)

Did I already read and review Paula Lafferty’s book back when it was self-published and titled La Vie de Guinevere? Yes, I did. But I’m going to read it and review it again. I’m also really excited to check out this book by Emily Krempholtz, so that should be fun.

On top of these books, I’m also really hoping to be able to make more progress on my 25 in 2025 book choices, because I haven’t read many of those yet. So, I do have a lot of books I’m hoping to read by the end of the year, and hopefully I’ll be able to keep the momentum of October going. It would be nice to get to a consistent place with reading and blogging again.

Speaking of, I really do need to try and get some Tabletop Tuesday posts up and start prepping for the full return of Weekend Writer. So…yeah…lots to do for the rest of the year. Let’s see if I can make it happen.

Okay, well that is all from me for today. Thank you so much for stopping by, and I’ll be back soon with more geeky content.
