September TBR

Hey all, Sam here.

I’m still reading books, but not nearly as much as I normally would in a month. It’s absolutely frustrating for me, because I want to read, but the times where I want to read I keep getting interrupted (because that’s how it goes at work most days) or something comes up and I just lose out on hours of potential reading time. So, I’m sure my August wrap-up (which will be posted in a couple days) still seems fairly short.

There’s a lot of books I’d like to read this month…mostly ones that I have on my NetGalley review list, and I definitely cannot list them all here. But I can say that the books on my July and August TBRs are still mostly valid options for books that I need to read.

The Gods Below by Andrea Stewart, Lucy Undying by Kiersten White, A Dark and Drowning Tide by Allison Saft, This Fatal Kiss by Alicia Jasinska.

These four books are all September releases, and they’re ones I’m excited for (although I’m still very excited for a bunch of books that have come out in the past couple of months and yet I still haven’t read them). So we’ll see what I’m able to accomplish when it comes to my reading for the month.

Or I can always pick up some of the NetGalley reads that I’m overdue for, like some of these August releases…

The Crimson Crown by Heather Walter, Ghostsmith by Nicki Pau Preto, The Phoenix Keeper by S.A. MacLean, Between Dragons and Their Wrath by Devin Madson

Again, I’m very excited about all of these. A couple of them I pre-ordered and the other two I need to pick up finished copies of very soon. Anyway, I know that I’m making a rather long TBR for myself, but I just keep hoping that I’ll reach a month where I actually read 15-20 books in a month, like I have in months/years past.

However, even though I need to read and review these NetGalley reads, there’s a few other books that I’m really feeling like I want to read now…

BUT, my main focus is honestly going to be a full series re-read, or technically a two series re-read. That of the Iron Druid Chronicles and the Ink & Sigil trilogy by Kevin Hearne. The final book of the trilogy, Candle & Crow, comes out on October 1st, and I’d like to be ready for that.

David and I are actually talking about making the four hour drive up to Anderson’s Bookstore in Naperville, IL, for the October 1st release event for Candle & Crow. And if I’m going to meet Kevin Hearne, I’d like to give myself a refresher on this fantastic world of books.
